From the Elmore
County Commission
The Elmore County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) was recognized at the 2025 Alabama Association of Emergency Managers (AAEM) conference as the recipient of the 2024-2025 Preparedness Program of the Year Award for medium size counties. This award is given to a program that has developed a structure in preparing for disasters. The Elmore County EMA has developed a plan, exercised a plan, developed a volunteer management program, and worked alongside our citizens and the communities in our County to be prepared in the case of an emergency. Some of the programs the Elmore County EMA has implemented are: Be Ready Day, Storm Spotter, and Continuity Plans just to name a few. Our EMA also provides opportunities for our citizens to be prepared and to be able to assist others through Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) courses which are held throughout the year.
The Commission would like to congratulate and thank our EMA Department for their dedication and their passion to help keep Elmore County safe and prepared before an event happens.
