Field Day for Amateur Radio in Prattville, Alabama

The Developmental Center of Louise M. Smith

Jay Street, Prattville, AL 298

This is a joint effort by Autauga ARES/AUXCOMM, Elmore County Amateur Radio Society, and Montgomery Amateur Radio Club. On Saturday between 8 and 9 a.m., we will set up at the Louise M. Smith Developmental Center, located at 298 Jay St. in Prattville. At 11 a.m., the public is welcome.

When all other forms of traditional communication fail, come discover how the world communicates. For people without a license who wish to go on the air with a qualified operator who will help them make their first long-distance call, there will be a station. Our operations will continue till 1 p.m. Sun.

Lew, the well-known chili from K1AZE, will be served. For the best Mexican food in Central Alabama, we’ll also have Alondra’s food truck from EL MARIACHI RESTAURANT. In order to raise our antennas so we can communicate with the rest of the world, Jerry from Mr. D’s Tree Service will be bringing out the bucket truck with an 80 lift.

Everyone is welcome, and this is a family-friendly event!
