North Alabama man faces capital murder charges in woman’s fatal shooting

Following a shooting Thursday morning, a guy from Falkville has been charged with capital murder.

Wyatt Braxton Young, 25, is being held in the Morgan County Jail without bond, according to Hartselle police.

Police say that at around nine in the morning, they were summoned to a residence on Stage Road in response to an allegation of a man brandishing a pistol.

On the way there, dispatchers informed them that there was a fight going on at the house with gunshots.

When police came, an unarmed male in the front yard cooperated, according to the police.

Nancy Deanne Sandlin Fox, 59, of Hartselle, was discovered dead at the site by the police.

According to a police notification, this was a singular incidence and the public is not currently in danger. During this trying time, the Hartselle Police Department offers its condolences to Ms. Fox’s family and loved ones.
