Although the Yellowhammer State’s 2026 class recruitment process is far from done, Alabama football is leading as of early July.
Five in-state players have already committed to the Crimson Tide. Three-star edge defender Kamhariyan Johnson (Muscle Shoals), four-star athlete Zyan Gibson (Gadsden City), four-star running back Ezavier Crowell (Jackson), five-star receiver Cederian Morgan (Alexander City), and three-star linebacker Zay Hall (Tuscaloosa) are all on that list. The 247Sports Composite is the basis for these star ratings.
Hezekiah Harris (Jemison), a four-star edge defender, has committed to Auburn.
As of July 2, the Crimson Tide’s 2026 recruiting class consists of 17 total commits. Overall, the class is ranked No. 6 by the 247Sports Composite.
Auburn, which is ranked No. 89 overall by the 247Sports Composite, has committed six players so far in the 2026 class.
The Tigers still have a lot of work to do both in the state and overall before recruits make their final decisions, but the recruiting wars are far from done.
Talented players are still present here. In Alabama, four of the top ten players for 2026 are still not committed. Among them is Anthony Jones, an edge defender ranked No. 41 overall in the class. After Morgan, he is ranked second on the in-state list.
Auburn recently graduated with the nation’s eighth-best recruiting class in 2025. Five-star defensive lineman Malik Autry (Opelika), four-star edge defender Jared Smith (Birmingham), four-star safety Anquon Fegans (Anniston), four-star linebacker JJ Faulk (Highland Home), four-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford (Birmingham), four-star safety Eric Winters (Enterprise), four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman (Saraland), four-star running back Alvin Henderson (Elba), and three-star punter John McGuire (Alabaster) were among the students who were enrolled in 2025.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class ranked third in the nation despite only acquiring two in-state players.
