Prenatal vitamin recall: Products sold online by Amazon, Walmart and Target

Published On:

Nearly 60,000 prenatal vitamins from California Gold Nutrition Iron Supplements are being recalled because of potentially hazardous packaging.

The recalled nutritional supplements include iron, which the Poison Prevention Packaging Act mandates be in child-resistant packaging, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced. According to federal inspectors, the supplements came in blister packs and bottles that weren’t kid-resistant.

According to the CPSC, if young children swallow the contents, there is a risk of fatal poisoning due to a lack of child precautions.

Three varieties of California Gold Nutrition dietary supplements are included in the recall: Ultamins Women’s 50+ Multivitamins, Daily Prenatal Multi, and Ultamins Women’s Multivitamin. Here is a list of the vitamin batch codes and expiration dates.

From January 2019 to April 2025, Amazon, Walmart, and Target marketed the supplements online. Customers who still possess the vitamins are being advised by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to keep the recalled products out of children’s reach and sight.

For a refund and instructions on how to properly dispose of the product and packaging, customers can also get in touch with iHerb. Customers should send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Iron Supplement Refund” and include the following details in order to receive a refund:
