Alabama’s 2015 national championship is coming up on its tenth anniversary. The anniversary of the 1965 national championship is also 60 years old.
During the Alabama football season in 2025, both will receive recognition.
Alabama will commemorate the 2015 national championship team during the Tennessee game on October 18, according to UA’s announcement on Monday. On Nov. 15, which is also homecoming, the Oklahoma game will recognize the 1965 squad.
For those teams, each of those weekends will be a reunion.
During the September 13 game against Wisconsin, Alabama will also host a reunion of the 1975 SEC Championship.
In addition, the game versus ULM on September 6 will commemorate and honor Alabama’s 100-year football championship. In addition, museum director Olivia Arnold told AL.com that the Paul W. Bryant Museum would open a new display to commemorate 100 years of Alabama football national titles. Under Nick Saban, the 2015 squad won a national championship during the College Football Playoff era. That season, running back Derrick Henry took home the Heisman Trophy. Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss), Kirby Smart (Georgia), Mario Cristobal (Miami), Billy Napier (Florida), and Mel Tucker (previously Michigan State) were among the coaching staff’s future head coaches. West Alabama is currently led by Scott Cochran, who was the strength-and-conditioning coach at the time. According to the AP and Football Writers, Paul Bear Bryant was the coach of the 1965 squad that took home a national championship. Alabama defeated Nebraska 39-28 in the Orange Bowl and went 9-1-1 that season.
