Wetumpka man arrested on multiple sex offenses; held with no bond awaiting Aniah’s Law hearing

On July 1, investigators with the Elmore County Sheriff’s office were called to an area hospital in reference to an alleged rape of a minor.

The reported victim, who is a juvenile, spoke with officers and said sexual abuse occurred for the past seven years, but recently had escalated to rape.

Pursuant to their investigation, Elmore County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Truman Franklin told the EAN there was sufficient evidence and cause for an arrest of Antonio Jordan, 43, and he was taken into custody. He was booked into the Elmore County Jail on July 2. A bond is listed at this time on the roster, but Lt. Franklin said he will be held without bond until an Aniah’s Law hearing, perhaps next week.

Jordan’s charges include two counts of rape, 1

degree, Sodomy 2

nd

degree, sex abuse 1

st

degree, sexual extortion, enticing a child to enter a vehicle, and incest.



All persons arrested are presumed innocent until their day in court.
