Which university in Alabama offers a more vibrant student body than Yale? The response may surprise you.
In a 2025 rating created by Niche.com, the University of Alabama was recently listed as one of the top universities in the nation for student life.that examined the school’s diversity, graduation rates, party scene, and other aspects.
The school was ranked No. 5 in the listing, which was created using data from the U.S. Department of Education and a thorough examination of student questionnaires. The University of Alabama scored highly in a number of important areas, including safety, which received a B-grade after 88 percent of students reported feeling safe on campus, and campus quality and student life, which both received an A+ rating because of the school’s more than 650 student organizations and vibrant social scene.
Florida State University was ranked eighth, Vanderbilt University was ranked fourth, and the University of Georgia took the top slot. On the list, Yale University was ranked eighth.
More than 30,000 undergraduate students attend the Tuscaloosa-based University of Alabama, which was established in 1831 and has an acceptance rate of about 76 percent. Tuition costs $21,761 on average.
