On Wednesday, one of President Donald Trump’s closest advisors called the demonstrators opposing the federalization of the DC police department “dumb white hippies” who had no connection to the capital.
Trump’s Homeland Security advisor and deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, advised the elderly white hippies to return home and rest.
They are raising no families in this city. They have no work in the city and no one they send to school here. Miller, along with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance, met with the National Guard at Union Station in D.C. on Wednesday and told reporters that they have no ties to the community at all.
However, he added, they are the ones who have been supporting the 1%—the criminals, the murderers, the rapists, and the drug traffickers. And I’m glad they’re here today because Pete, the vice president, and I are all leaving, and because of their inspiration, we’re going to give this city thousands more resources to help get the criminals and gang members out of here. We’re also going to show that a city can support the law-abiding citizens who live there.
Miller declared, “We will not allow the communists to destroy a great American city, much less the capital of the country.”
There are an estimated 1,900 troops in D.C. Republican-led states account for more than half of the total. They have largely been seen at downtown locations, such as the National Mall and metro stops, aside from Union Station.
When Miller, Hegseth, and Vance visited, protesters yelled “free D.C.”
Miller claimed that the demonstrators, whom he referred to as old white hippies, are not and have never been a part of the city.
Miller noted that the majority of people in Washington are Black.
Black residents of this city have not felt safe for generations, and President Trump is working to change that with the help of the National Guard, the Metropolitan Police Department, and our federal law enforcement officials.
Therefore, we will disregard these foolish white hippies who should all go home and rest since they are all over 90 years old, and we will return to our task of defending the American people and the people of Washington, D.C.
