Olandria Carthen, a Love Island runner-up and graduate, is providing some major star power to an Alabama HBCU’s back-to-school ceremony.
Tuskegee University is where Carthen, a Decatur native known to admirers as Bama Barbie, graduated.
The HBCU announced that the Tuskegee University Student Activities Board and the Career Education Leadership Development Center will host the Back 2 School Kickoff at Chappie James Arena on Saturday, with the HBCU as the special guest.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday between 6 and 8 p.m. 5:30 p.m. is when doors will open.
Fans of Carthen were grateful that she was giving back to her alma mater.
One Instagram user commented on Tuskegee’s profile, “I love that she is using her opportunity to promote higher education.”
I’m so happy she’s returning home! Before the villa, she was that girl,” someone else wrote.
Carthen finished her stay at the villa on Day 32 of Season 7 of Love Island as the runner-up.
