A $500 million hospital project that took several years to complete was completed last month by Birmingham construction company Robins & Morton.
On June 17, the new 12-story Crystal Spring Tower at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, opened.
The general contractor was a collaborative venture between Branch Builds and Robins & Morton. ESa, located in Nashville, was the project architect.
The tower, which is more than 500,000 square feet in size, is home to Carilion’s Cardiovascular Institute, the only Level 1 trauma center in the area, and an enlarged emergency room.
According to Steve Arner, CEO of Carillion, this is the result of years of arduous work to guarantee that our region will have access to the most cutting-edge and contemporary care for many years to come.
The tower features expandable procedural areas, patient rooms that can handle different kinds of treatment, and adaptable spaces.
It features surgical rooms, catheterization/electrophysiology labs, a helicopter, new trauma bays, a pediatric trauma bay, and more.
Our team members, working with Branch Builds, have been committed to providing our Roanoke community with this cutting-edge facility for almost four years, according to Mark Mattox, vice president of Robins & Morton. Our entire team is pleased to witness their dedication and hard work in constructing this tower, which will provide this area with life-saving care. We also appreciate Carilion Clinic’s trust.
