Following a deadly shooting in New Market early on Sunday morning, a guy has been taken into custody.
According to WAFF, Xavier Turner, 31, has been taken into custody as a suspect in the Sunday shooting death of 23-year-old Evan Mayomi in a New Market residence.
After receiving a call regarding a shooting, law enforcement responded at the residence on Bent Creek Lane at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to WAFF. They discovered Birmingham resident Mayomi shot in the chest. At the scene, Mayomi was declared deceased.
According to WAFF, Turner is being held without bond at the Madison County Jail.
