Buffalo Bills sign former Alabama high school, Miles receiver

Grant DuBose was last saw wearing an NFL uniform on December 15, while he was being taken from the field in Houston to a hospital.

The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday that DuBose has signed a contract with them, marking his comeback to the NFL.

When DuBose was attempting to catch a pass over the middle while playing for the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans safety Caden Bullock struck him. Bullock was given a penalty for needless roughness during the play. After he went down, DuBose laid still on the NRG Stadium turf for over ten minutes while the medical staff attended to him.

At last, DuBose was moved off the field and placed on a backboard before being transported to Hermann Memorial-Texas Medical Center.

DuBose missed the rest of the season after the Dolphins placed him on injured reserve on December 17.

DuBose had been an unrestricted free agent since March 12 when he signed with Buffalo. The Bills play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night in their last preseason game.

Last season, DuBose made his NFL debut. He played 50 offensive snaps and had two receptions for 11 yards in three Dolphins games.

DuBose played football for Miles’ SIAC championship and NCAA Division II playoff squad in 2019 after graduating from Park Crossing High School in Montgomery. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic, DuBose was left to work at Walmart and Hyundai Glovis, bag groceries, and deliver food orders after the Golden Bears canceled their 2020 schedule.

During his two seasons with the 49ers, DuBose caught 126 receptions for 1,684 yards and 15 touchdowns before rejoining Charlotte for collegiate football.

DuBose was selected by Green Bay in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft and practiced with the Packers that season.

The Dolphins claimed DuBose after Green Bay waived him at the conclusion of the 2024 preseason.

After suffering a shoulder injury in the opening game of the 2024 season, DuBose was placed on injured reserve for the next eleven games. His season-ending injury occurred shortly after his return from injured leave.
