Community Foundation of Central Alabama
More than $130,000 in Wellness & Education Grants were given by the Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF) to nonprofit groups that support educators and students in the River Region. At a ceremony on Thursday, June 26 at the Wetumpka Impact Crater Discovery & Visitors Center, the funds were given out.
Below is a complete list of grant recipients and award amounts.
The educational initiatives and wellness programs that encourage academic performance, youth development, and better futures in Central Alabama are supported by these awards. The occasion honored the significant efforts of groups committed to enhancing communities via support and education.

Recipients of the 2025 CACF Family Wellbeing & Education Grant Cycle
Education Grants from the Central Alabama Community Foundation ($98,142.00)
Boys and Girls Clubs of the River Region will receive $14,500.00 to help cover the costs of two social recreation directors, a lifeguard, and pool supplies in order to engage members in recreational activities while teaching them about fitness, exercise, and safe workouts.
Gateway Baptist Church will provide $5,000.00 to provide weekly meals for kids and their families enrolled in the HOPES After School Tutoring Program, which assists students who have been referred by officials at Capitol Heights Middle School.
Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama will receive $15,000.00 to cover the cost of membership for 333 girls in Montgomery, Macon, and Lowndes counties so they can take part in leadership programs at their schools.
The direct costs of establishing two teams serving students at Montgomery County Title I schools with a program that combines physical activity with life skill development and culminates in a celebratory 5K run at the end of both seasons will be covered by $6,142.00 donated to Girls on the Run of the River Region.
In order to address students’ transportation challenges, Hope Inspired Ministries will donate $6,000.00 to support HIM’s Lowndes County employment training facility by covering the cost of gas for one van route.
Ingram State Technical Foundation will receive $15,000.00 to give 40 students certification testing and 19 graduating students the tools and safety gear they need to start working after being released from jail.
Montgomery County Children’s Policy Council will donate $5,000.00 to help cover the cost of books, iPads, supplies, and refreshments for 40 third graders at Martin Luther King Elementary School as part of their book club.
$8,000.00 to the Montgomery Education Foundation to cover teacher expenses for the Starbase Advanced Program, a 10-week after-school program that focuses on STEM subjects like robotics, drones, virtual and augmented reality, and coding and is located in middle schools in Montgomery County.
For the after-school tutorial program at Macon County’s Booker T. Washington High School, which entails more than 50 Tuskegee University students tutoring and mentoring 50 high school students weekly, Next Step Up will receive $9,500.00 to cover the costs of supplies, technology, and stipends for professors and high school advisors.
$14,000.00 will be donated to That’s My Child to fund scholarships for 40 students to take part in the Teen to Work Program, which consists of a five-week training course at That’s My Dog Jr. restaurant, a four-week curriculum teaching hard and soft skills necessary to enter the workforce, and a final step that connects students with employers.

Grants for Technical Assistance
($4,500.00)
Fishers Farm will get $2,000.00 to upgrade internal operations with a centralized digital communication system.
Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will receive $2,500.00 to help cover the cost of upgrading five PCs with Windows 11-capable ones when Windows 10 becomes an unsupported operating system in October 2025.
Education Grants from the Autauga Area Community Foundation ($14,177.00)
The Autauga County Family Support Center will get $3,000.00 to buy workbooks and other materials for its trainings on child abuse prevention and parenting workshops.
Girls on the Run Serving the River Region will receive $3,000.00 to help cover the expenses of establishing a single team that will serve 16 kids at a Title I school in Autauga County.
Heritage Training and Career Center will get $2,177.00 to help cover the costs of offering low-income individuals training programs on adult literacy, workforce preparedness, and job placement.Residents of Autauga County
$3,000.00 to Liberty Learning Foundation, Inc. to help cover the expenses of supplying 28 Autauga County Schools second-grade classrooms with the civic engagement curriculum, Hands on Liberty, and the Libby Liberty Celebration Event.
$3,000.00 to the Montgomery Education Foundation to help pay for Prattville Junior High School’s Starbase Advanced Program, a 10-week after-school program that focuses on STEM activities.
Education Grants from the Elmore County Community Foundation ($14,000.00)
118 sixth graders from Elmore County Public Schools will receive $2,000.00 from the Alabama Wildlife Federation to attend the Elmore County Water Festival at the Alabama Nature Center.
Elmore County Family Resource Center, Inc. will receive $3,000.00 to help cover the costs of administering the Parent Project Program for parents of kids who have accrued five or more unexcused absences. The program will be implemented in partnership with the Elmore County Board of Education and the Elmore County Juvenile Court.
Girls on the Run Serving the River Region will receive $3,000.00 to help cover the expenses of establishing a single team that will serve 16 kids at a Title I school in Elmore County.
$3,000.00 to Liberty Learning Foundation, Inc. to help cover the cost of the Libby Liberty Celebration Event and the civic engagement program, Hands on Liberty, for second-grade classrooms in 37 Elmore County Public Schools.
To cover the costs of Starbase 2.0, a 10-week after-school program that focuses on STEM activities for middle school students in Elmore County Public Schools, $3,000.00 was donated to the Montgomery Education Foundation.
$130,819.00 was the total amount awarded.
