Robbie Brewer, a race car driver, passed away following a medical incident during the weekend’s racing at Bowman Gray Stadium. After colliding with a wall during the race, the 53-year-old driver was taken to a hospital, where he passed away.

The public has not been given any information regarding the medical emergency.

The event happened at Bowman Gray Stadium, where Brewer had competed many times, during a 20-lap Sportsman race.

Brewer participated in 311 races at Bowman Gray Stadium and was an extremely talented racer. He competed in the Sportsman Division, making his first professional start in 1990 and winning the points title in 2011.

His peers in the racing world held Brewer in high regard.”I’m not just going to honor him for the remainder of the season, but for as long as we race out there,” fellow competitor Brad Lewis stated. We shall miss him.

Lewis added that, despite our close age difference, Brewer was like a big brother to me.
