Are you prepared for a glittering Independence Day? Throughout the state, there are star-studded celebrations scheduled to make your holiday unforgettable. These festivities, which are scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, through Sunday, July 6, are not to be missed.
Independence Day Street Party
What: Spectra Laser Light Experience, fireworks, and kid-friendly activities.
When: July 2 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Location: Main Street, 23101 Canal Road, Orange Beach, The Wharf.
Free admission, with some activities $5 to $10.

Fire on the Water
What: Fireworks, music, food trucks, swimming, and family activities.
When: July 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. 9 p.m. fireworks.
Where: 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, Oak Mountain State Park. Activities at Double Oak Lake’s main beach.
Admission: $10 per vehicle for Pelham locals, $15 per vehicle for up to four persons.

Our Lady of Sorrows Fourth of July Festival
What: The Knights of Columbus prepared over 6,500 pounds of barbecue. featuring a treasure and trash rummage sale, bingo, and kid-friendly games.
When: July 3–4.
Where: Homewood, 1728 Oxmoor Road, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Sale of bulk barbecue: July 3, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; July 4, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Boneless turkey breasts, smoked half chickens, chopped pork, ribs, beans, slaw, bread, cakes, and whole Boston butts. The range of prices is $5 to $45.
BBQ plates will be sold in the parish hall on July 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hot dogs, pork sandwiches, barbecue plates, cake slices, and cupcakes. The range of prices is $2 to $13.

Freedom Celebration
What: Silver Wings parachute team, Route 66 music, fireworks, and food trucks.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. on July 3. Fireworks at around 8:45 p.m., followed by Silver Wings at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Track at 1700 Lafayette Parkway, Opelika High School.
Admission is free.

UAB Summer Band Concert
What: Music performed by a community group of professional and amateur adult musicians.
When: 7 p.m. on July 4.
Where: University of Alabama in Birmingham, 617 13th St. South, outside Bartow Arena. Bring blankets and chairs.

Thunder on the Mountain
What: Independence Day fireworks spectacular. The show is choreographed to music and lasts roughly 20 minutes.
When: 9 p.m. on July 4.
Where: Vulcan Park and Museum in Birmingham, which is closed for safety reasons starting at 4 p.m., was the scene of fireworks. Homewood, Five Points South, and the UAB campus are among the city’s viewing locations.
Admission is free. WBRC Fox 6 will also carry the fireworks show.

Homewood 4th of July Festival
What: Thunder on the Mountain fireworks extravaganza, rides, and kid-friendly activities.
When: 5 p.m. on July 4.
Where: 18th Street close to 29th Avenue South, Downtown Homewood. According to the organizers, traffic will be prohibited on two blocks of 18th Street South and one block of 29th Avenue South.

Trussville Freedom Celebration
What: Route 66 music, a fireworks display, food booths, and more.
When: July 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. 9 p.m. fireworks.

Fourth of July Fireworks and Concert
What: A fireworks display and live performances by Taylor Hicks and the Bank Walkers.
On July 4, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Music begins at 6:30 p.m., gates open at 5:30 p.m., and fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.
Where: Lake Martin Amphitheater, 8878 Kowaliga Road, Eclectic, Russell Lands on Lake Martin.
Admission costs $10.
