Nyx craves cuddles and attention; She is waiting at HSEC as the Pet of the Week

Nyx is the pet of the week.

Nyx, a female who is two to three years old, was brought to us as a stray but was never taken back. She needs care, loves licks and cuddles, and weighs 56 pounds. She has good recall, enjoys goodies, and walks nicely on a leash. She was housetrained, according to her finders, and gets along well with kids and other dogs—both male and female—at the shelter. Nyx tested positive for heartworms when she first came to us, but she has now finished her treatment and is prepared to live with a family. She has also maintained her house secure and continued to receive regular heartworm prevention so that those pesky heartworms won’t ever again threaten her health.

For dogs and cats under one year old, our adoption costs are $100 and $50, respectively. Adopted animals older than one year old may be adopted by approved adopters for a charge of their choosing. The required spay or neuter, basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, and a complimentary health examination with your partnering veterinarian are all fully covered by this adoption charge.

Filling out our adoption application is the first step if you’re interested in Nyx or any of our pets. You may do it here: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html. Following approval, we will work with you to schedule a meeting and adoption.
