One of country music’s wealthiest stars retiring with his family as he battles health condition

Earlier this year, Alan Jackson concluded his touring career in Milwaukee with a performance that had a number of poignant moments.

The legendary figure in country music informed the audience, “You may have heard that I’m winding down.” Actually, this is our final road show together.

At last, Jackson said, “Thank you all.” You guys are going to bring me to tears.

At that point, Jackson gave a slight surprise.

“This is my final road show out here,” he stated, adding that “we are planning to do a big finale show in Nashville next summer.” I felt compelled to conclude everything in Nashville, Tennessee, where it all began. City of Music. I was able to complete my final one there. For me, this is the final one I will be traveling. The journey has been long and sweet.

Jackson then gave a brief account of his battle to survive.

According to him, it began this September 40 years ago. It has been an insane journey as my wife and I drove to Nashville in an old U-Haul trailer in pursuit of the dream. I am so grateful for all of your support and attendance at the events; I truly lived the American Dream.

Jackson spoke to the audience again as the performance came to a close.

He said, “I just wanted to thank you all again.” This audience of you has been amazing tonight. There is no better way for me to wrap up my traveling career than here with all of you. Fantastic audience. May you be blessed. Thank you.

Perhaps one day I’ll see you all again.

Although Jackson’s departure is painful, he is taking this time off to be with his family and for health concerns. Ultimately, he did a pretty damned good job of positioning himself to be able to make the move.

Since starting his career in 1987, Jackson has had a lengthy journey. It has also been a profitable run.

How much money?

Well, CelebrityNetWorth.com estimates that Jackson is worth $150 million. Jackson was the ninth wealthiest active country music star in the nation in 2024, and that figure was also sufficient to place him in the top 10.

In August, the 66-year-old embarked on his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour.

In a video uploaded to his X, formerly Twitter, account, Jackson stated, “I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, played everywhere in the country and parts of the world.” I’m approaching my twilight years, have had a fantastic career, both of my daughters are grown, and I have one grandson and one on the way. I like to spend more time at home and don’t wish to travel as much as I used to when I was younger. I also don’t tour as much as I did ten years ago. However, I believe the moment has come to consider hanging it up full-time.

In 2021, Jackson disclosed that he suffers from Charcot-Marie-Tooth, a chronic neuropathy disorder that impairs a person’s gait and balance. In the video that was uploaded on his account, he also addressed it.
