Police investigating Alabama middle school dance after boys allegedly lifted girls’ skirts, took pictures

A potential criminal inquiry has emerged from a back-to-school dance at a junior high school in Alabama.

The dance was conducted on Friday night at Odenville Middle School.

Inappropriate behavior involving boys tugging up girls’ gowns and capturing pictures and/or recordings has been reported on social media numerous times since.

On Facebook, school officials responded to the issue on Tuesday, stating that a large number of the posts include false information from people who are not affiliated with Odenville Middle School or St. Clair County Schools.

The message said that St. Clair County Schools Central Office and OMS faculty and staff are taking this issue very seriously.

As part of the ongoing inquiry, we are collaborating closely with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Our first goal has always been and will continue to be our students’ safety. Students who have firsthand knowledge of these incidents are encouraged to contact OMS management or submit a formal report to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

While acknowledging that an investigation is underway, Odenville Police Chief Glenn Walton stated that the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, which supplies school resource police to the county schools, is spearheading the investigation.

According to Walton, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was notified right away. I am aware that they are aggressively investigating it.

That evening, sheriff’s officers and Odenville police arrived on the site.

According to Walton, the schools and the sheriff’s office do an excellent job of investigating these problems. They are quite thorough.

A request for comment from the sheriff was not immediately answered.
