In order to grieve the loss of her ex-husband, who passed away from cancer, Kelly Clarkson is taking a break from The Voice.
Earlier this month, Brandon Blackstock passed away from melanoma, a type of skin cancer, due to natural causes. The reason of death was listed as natural causes.
The U.S. Sun reports that Clarkson will miss a number of the popular reality show’s season 29 episodes.
According to a source who spoke to The U.S. Sun, Kelly will not be present at the Thursday and Friday tapings that are planned for next week.
A replacement coach for her is now being developed by production.
Clarkson was filming The Voice: Battle of Champions for the NBC series alongside coaches Adam Levine and John Legend.

At the time, a family official remarked, “We share the news of Brandon Blackstock’s passing with great sadness.”
For for three years, Brandon fought cancer with courage. He died quietly, surrounded by his loved ones. We appreciate your prayers and thoughts, and we kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this extremely trying time.
