The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce joined the Autauga County Family Support Center to celebrate its newly renovated Workforce Development Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located directly across from Newton Park in Prattville, this facility has served the community for more than two decades. Now, thanks to recent renovations, it has been transformed to better support workforce development and career training initiatives.

The Workforce Development Center continues to offer GED and Adult Education classes, but its educational offerings have expanded significantly. Executive Director Merrill Carroll shared that the center now provides certification programs in pharmacy technician certification, medical billing and coding, and has newly added clinical certified medical assistant certification classes.

All programs offered through the Workforce Development Center, as well as other Family Support Center services, are completely free of charge.

The mission of the Autauga County Family Support Center remains steadfast: β€œTo improve the quality of life for children and families in the river region through education, advocacy and employment.” With the launch of the Workforce Development Center, that mission is now more accessible than ever.
