Jarvis Washington, a wide receiver from Louisiana high school, verbally committed to play football for South Alabama on Monday.
Washington, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound player from Baton Rouge’s The Dunham School, is the Jaguars’ 19th Class of 2026 pledge. In 2024, he led his team to a 14-1 record and a state runner-up finish with 52 receptions for 976 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him an honorable mention all-state selection.
Other institutions that have offered scholarships to Washington include McNeese, Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, and Grambling State. On Monday, he announced his decision on social media:
Washington joins McDonogh 35 (New Orleans) star Heij Jackson as the sixth wide receiver among South Alabama’s 2026 pledges. Sami Abdelhak, an offensive lineman and another Louisiana promise to the Jaguars, declared last week that he was reopening his recruitment.
On December 2, the Class of 2026’s early signing period opens.
