At the age of 88, Ronnie Rondell Jr., the stuntman who was featured on Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here album cover as the burning businessman, passed away from unknown reasons.
The legendary person passed away on August 10 at a senior care facility in Missouri, according to his family.
Photographer Aubrey Powell revealed in a 2020Guardian article that Rondell had doubts about the shoot.
“It’s dangerous for a man to stand still on fire,” he remarked. Usually, the fire is expanding behind you when you’re running, or it’s above you when you’re falling, or you can always tell by the camera angles that the stunt performer is closer to the flames than they actually are, but to stay motionless…?
The 2020 report claims that Rondell was burned fifteen times while wearing a suit and wig doused in flame retardant.
Rondell also made a significant contribution to the film industry by working on films like Lethal Weapon, Diamonds are Forever, and Blazing Saddles.
